The founder and owner of Nick's Custom Cabinets, Inc., Bernard Nicholas, is a 1960 graduate of Hampton University located in Hampton, Virginia where he received his Bachelor's of Science degree in Furniture Design and Construction. Upon graduation, he worked for a French furniture designer and manufacturer as a Machine and Assembly Mechanic.

In 1962, Mr. Nicholas began his teaching career in Calvert County, Maryland where he specialized in Industrial Arts. He then transitioned to the Montgomery County Public School System in 1967. While teaching in the public school system, he worked his trade from his home shop. After eight years of teaching and working his trade, Mr. Nicholas turned his passion for cabinet making into a full-time occupation and career.

In 1975, his passion to design, create, and build upscale cabinetry and furniture gave birth to Nick's Custom Cabinets, Inc. The company quickly established a base clientele in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, primarily in Bethesda, Rockville, Chevy Chase, McLean, Georgetown, and Washington, DC. Over the years, the company has grown to include constructing and shipping high-quality furniture to New York, Florida, California, North Carolina and throughout Northern Virginia.

The company's distinguished creations have been featured in the 2006 and 2008 Fall issues of Home & Design, The Magazine of Luxury Homes and Fine Interiors.

Nick's Custom Cabinets, Inc. not only stays current with society's trends and styles, but the company also caters to clients individual taste. The company designs and builds furniture to your specifications to include creations for both Residential and Commercial.
  • Entertainment centers, wall units, library units, bedroom furniture (including children's furniture), kitchen cabinets, vanities, medicine cabinets, commercial units and fixtures, reception desks, plus much more.
  • Cabinetry and furniture can be fabricated in all variations of solid hardwood, laminate, and decorative painted finishes. Solid hardwoods include but are not limited to mahogany, oak, birch, popular, and cherry just to name a few.
  • Installation of cabinetry and furniture which may include electrical, plumbing, solid surface tops such as granite and marble, appliances, fixtures and other accessories are all managed by Nick's Custom Cabinets, Inc.
The company is based in College Park, Maryland and is very accessible to major Interstates.
